Learning to Depolarize: Helping Students Reach Across Lines of Divide

Location: ISACS Classroom, Downtown Chicago

REGISTRATION IS OPEN!

The country is crippled by political polarization which will be a lasting societal challenge and students need help in bridging political or ideological divides. Consider how to lead students through the messiness of dialog across lines of disagreement and how to position educators to model the bridge-building dispositions and skills they wish to instill in their students. Leave with practical strategies to foster civil discourse in the classroom while gaining a vision of how the adults in our schools can position themselves to lead the work we ask of students.

This workshop is for teachers whose disciplines invite dialog in middle and upper schools, as well as LS teachers who wish to lay the groundwork for dialog across lines of difference from an early age.
