The Anatomy & Choreography of Collaborative Leadership, Abigail Wiebenson, Leadership Coach
Participants will examine and practice basic tools and techniques which enable insight, buy-in and traction in the work with adults who represent a range of personality, background, skills and experience. The morning will be devoted to examining coaching anatomy: mindset, compassionate curiosity, positive and negative energy and personality types. The afternoon will focus on leadership choreography. Participants will practice two protocols: the 7-step breakthrough conversation and the 3-step debrief. Both are critical to creating a positive culture of reciprocal feedback. Everything covered will augment and/or affirm aspects of each participant’s current leadership prowess. The afternoon protocols are instantly useful. Participants will be invited to spread their wings and fly higher with renewed awareness and confidence in the land of leadership.

Counseling Basics for School Leaders, Ken Rogers, The Park School (MA)
A review of fundamental counseling practice can enable the school leader to better manage relationship dynamics, analyze and solve problems, and communicate more effectively.  In this session, participants will review and practice the following core counseling concepts in the context of school leadership:

• Consultation (How can I create a structure to provide trusted feedback and guidance for myself?)
• Self-awareness (How might I be getting in the way of the work?)
• Diagnostic/therapeutic posture (How do I analyze people and problems? How do I determine solutions?)
• Technique (What tools, scripts, and approaches are effective when interacting with others?)

The Signals in the Noise: An Introduction to Group Dynamics for New Leaders, Greg Bamford, Leadership+Design 
New school leaders are expected to lead and manage groups of adults for what is often the first time in their careers. They may have built skills working with others at the interpersonal (1:1) level, or for speaking to large groups on a 1:many basis, but succeeding as a leader means learning to see group dynamics as a system. What is causing resistance from the group? Why do the actions of a colleague affect the behavior of others? This workshop will outline two lenses for understanding what you are seeing around you – the Waterline Model and Krupman’s Drama Triangle – and corresponding tools for avoiding the traps these dynamics can lay for new leaders.

Back to School, Back to Normal? Legal Guidance for Next Year's Return to the Classroom, Dana Fattore Crumley, Franczek PC
After a long year filled with remote learning for some, and parents at high alert with concern about student learning loss and social-emotional health, legal compliance and making legally sound decisions are important cornerstones for the upcoming school year.  This session will provide the most current guidance on all aspects of next year’s return to the school building for both students and staff. The session will also include overview of important considerations for the school leader in the areas of student rights and discipline, equity and anti-discrimination policies and practices, records and confidentiality, and employee management issues, including discipline and determination of leaves and accommodations.

Leading with an Anti-Bias Lens & Taking a Strategic Approach to DEIJ,

In this session, participants will explore how taking an anti-bias lens to a leadership role can help advance your school's efforts and goals around diversity, equity, and inclusion. We'll explore ways to build capacity with your team, thoughtfully set up and implement DEIJ initiatives, and discuss strategies for navigating resistance and building buy-in from all members of your community. Our goal will be to help empower you to recognize where your school and you are in your respective journeys around DEIJ and how to set your community up for sustainable and meaningful growth.  

Practicing A Peaceful & Powerful Relationship with Discomfort, Uncertainty & Disagreement, Dave Mochel, Mindfulness Coach
Discomfort and uncertainty are inevitable aspects of being human. How we relate to these has a huge impact on the quality of our lives, relationships, and leadership. We can learn to support ourselves and others gracefully and effectively in the presence of anxiety, stress, and disagreement. Participants will leave with specific strategies for working with their own internal challenges as well as communicating clearly and supportively with their teams.

Can I Use Bluetooth Headset?
Yes, as long as the Bluetooth device is compatible with the computer or mobile device that you are using.

Do I have to have a webcam to join on Zoom?
While you are not required to have a webcam to join a Zoom Meeting or Webinar, you will not be able to transmit video of yourself. You will continue to be able to listen and speak during the meeting, share your screen, and view the webcam video of other participants.
