School Description:

The Academy at DaySpring is an accredited university model school which bridges the gap between home and school by giving parents the opportunity to be an important part of the learning process. Students work in the classroom with peers and a teacher three days a week and then work at home with parents or independently the other two days a week.

We offer our Creative Arts Preschool, and elementary through high school classrooms with mixed levels to allow all students to work at varied levels within their grade.

We believe that if you teach skills, such as creativity, critical thinking, collaboration and communication, within all content areas, that students will be equipped for success in whatever they do beyond school. We believe education should be dynamic, alive and relevant to students. Our teaching style and curriculum choices reflect those beliefs. We aim to provide a challenging and comprehensive progressive education with a hands-on, problem solving approach. We seek to make the students’ educational experience as personal as possible, and to motivate and equip students of all abilities to reach their full potential. We have an environment that fosters a love for learning and an acceptance of the individuality of all our students. Although we do not teach doctrine, the Bible is at the center of all we do and we consider it a privilege to partner with parents as they help prepare their children for what God has for their futures.

Vision

Our vision is to build strong foundations in lives, young and old, to sustain their fully developed God given gifts, and for them to be enjoyed, celebrated and utilized in those lives for a lifetime. Communities will be enriched by the impact of those lives demonstrating how to live with excellent character and skill, enhanced creativity, critical thought, collaboration and passion for their calling.

Mission

Our mission is to train our students in academics and the creative arts with excellence and to equip them to use the arts and their skills effectively in their lives, impacting the community.

Values

  • Excellence in relationships, attitudes and character, artistry and performance, technique and skill, and in the environment where we teach and learn.

  • Character Development to build foundations of self discipline, responsibility, kindness, confidence, respect, service, and leadership.

  • Skills that will serve our students well in any path they choose: technical skills for their fields, communication, collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, and an attitude of contribution to the community.

  • Community, creating a diverse culture that is engaging, serving, partnering, and providing outside experiences to enrich the students' perspective.
