In support of our Michigan colleagues, ISACS will be providing Michigan SB-CEU’s at the ISACS Annual Conference at COBO Center on Thursday November 3 – Friday, November 4, 2011. Exhibitor and Sponsorship Opportunities
Exhibitors at the conference will have access to educators from more than 230 schools in our 13 state region. ISACS expects more than 1,200 faculty, administrators and trustees to pass through the exhibit area. The exhibitor area will be open from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm on Thursday, November 3rd and 8:30 am to 3:00 pm on Friday, November 4th (with appropriate lunch breaks).
ISACS also provides annual conference sponsorship opportunities. Westin Book Cadillac - Limited Rooms Available
ISACS has secured discounted rooms at the Westin Book Cadillac for $125/night plus tax for single/double occupancy. The rate includes complimentary Internet and the gym. This special rate is valid thru 6:00 PM on Friday, October 14, 2011. To make reservations, please call 1-888-627-7150 and mention the group reservations code:” Independent Schools Association of the Central States.” Note: Individual reservations must be cancelled by 24-hours prior to arrival to avoid one night room and tax charge. We highly recommend making your hotel reservations early! Overnight valet parking at the Westin is $15/night and daily valet parking is $10/day.
Legendary style and glamour has returned to Detroit. Following a $200 million renovation, the historic Book Cadillac Hotel has been restored to its original splendor to reclaim its position as Detroit’s luxury hotel. Now included in the National Register of Historic Places, the Italian Renaissance–style hotel, built by Detroit’s famous Book brothers, was the tallest building in Detroit and the tallest hotel in the world at its completion in 1924.
The hotel is 4 ½ blocks from COBO. ISACS will provide limited transportation to/from COBO at particular times. The walk is less than 10 minutes and the People Mover is also an easy option.

Holiday Inn Express Detroit

ISACS has secured a block of rooms at the Holiday Inn Express, which is directly across the street from the Westin Book Cadillac and is 4 blocks from COBO Center. ISACS has held a limited number of rooms at the Holiday Inn Express for the nights of Wednesday, November 2 and Thursday, November 3 at a rate of $119/per night plus tax. The rate includes a continental breakfast. To make a reservation, please call the hotel directly at 313-887-7000, press “3” and use the Group Block Code: “ISA” or name “ISACS”. Rate is available until October 19. Cancellation for individual rooms is 24 Hours prior to 3:00 pm on the arrival date without room charge incurred.

Valet parking at the Holiday Inn Express is $18.00/per car with in and out privileges.
Air travel to Detroit can be accessed via Detroit Metro Airport. In addition to other carriers, Southwest Airlines flies in/out of Detroit Metro Airport.
A taxi from Detroit Metro Airport to the hotel costs approximately $50 one-way and takes approximately 30 minutes during non-rush hour and 50 minutes during rush hour.
If you would like to schedule a car service to/from the airport, we recommend using B.C.M Enterprise Limousine Service. For this service, you must prearrange your travel needs directly with B.C. M. From the airport to downtown (either to the Westin or COBO) will be $65 and includes gratuity From downtown to the airport the fare is $55 and includes gratuity. To make a reservation for a car service call BCM directly at 248-351-0235 and give them your travel needs. ISACS does not have a special group rate. These rates are only slightly higher than taking a taxi.
Downtown Transportation - Detroit People MoverOnce downtown, access COBO, the hotel, restaurants and attractions using the Detroit People Mover . The People mover is a fully automated light rail system that operates on an elevated single track loop in Detroit's central business district. The 2.9 mile system with 13 stops costs .50 cents per ride. Normal weekday operating hours are 6:30 a.m. to Midnight, with an extension to 2 a.m. on Friday. Weekend hours are 9 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturday and Noon to Midnight on Sunday. It takes approximately 15 minutes to complete the 13 stop loop. The cost of each ride is .50 cents.

Printed brochures with detailed program content will be sent to the ISACS Teacher Representative at your school in August.
ISACS cannot offer refunds for the annual conference after Friday, October 14. Cancellations must be received in writing by October 14 to receive a 50% refund.
