In the ISACS community of leaders and learners, one of the most important functions is the peer-to-peer review process of member schools. Based upon the principle of full and accurate disclosure that results in a document called the self-study, an ISACS school is subsequently visited by a select group of peers, led by an ISACS head of school, to witness the congruence between what appears in the self-study and what can be seen first-hand in this three day on-site visit. School improvement and accountability are the ultimate aims of this process. No school is the same, and every team report is unique. An ISACS Accreditation Review Committee reads and reviews each visiting team report, reaction report and progress report during the school's accreditation cycle. This committee of experienced heads of school then makes accreditation recommendations to the ISACS Board of Trustees. The Accreditation Review Committee meets four times each year.

The Guide to Accreditation Procedures has been developed to:

  • Offer direction to schools that are beginning the self-study process. Hopefully, each school will find that this portion of the manual provides clear, sequential, and fail-safe instructions to conduct a meaningful and accurate self-study.

  • Provide instruction, background information, and procedures for visiting team leaders to follow as they and their team of volunteers conduct the on-site examination of the school seeking accreditation.
  • One copy is provided at no cost to each ISACS school. Additional copies may be purchased by contacting Kevin@isacs.org.
