In the year of the ISACS visit, the school hosts an ISACS accreditation visiting team chaired by an experienced school administrator and composed of teachers and administrators competent to assess the various aspects of the school.

Arrangements for selecting the Visiting Team Leader are made by the head of school being visited in conjunction with the ISACS Accreditation Director. While the leader and the team members are selected for the most part from ISACS schools, the team may also include representatives from the public sector (public schools, universities, and the state department of education, for example) and, possibly, from other geographical areas.

The visiting team report, based upon findings from the visitation and a comparison of these with the self-study, is reviewed by the ISACS Evaluation Review Committee (ERC) and acted upon by the ISACS board of trustees at one of its quarterly meetings; the chosen action and the visiting team report are sent to the head of the school.
